A new language for the bedroom space with Martino Gamper design x Bolzan. In a time when design is increasingly called to respond to evolving lifestyles, Fiocco emerges as a bold reinterpretation of a traditionally overlooked element: the headboard. Created by Italian-born, London-based designer Martino Gamper for Bolzan, Fiocco transforms a passive structure into an active architectural component – one that invites interaction, adaptability and personal expression.
Gamper’s approach is deeply rooted in a historical reflection on the bedroom:
“Historically, the bed played a central role in domestic life, much like the modern living room. Over time, it has become a quiet, private refuge, used mostly at night. But I believe it can reclaim its place as a shared, lived-in space – open, flexible, and active.”

A Headboard that opens up new possibilities. At the heart of the design lies a deceptively simple yet radical idea: to reimagine the headboard as a dynamic, multifunctional space. Far from being a mere backdrop to the bed, Gamper’s design introduces two folding side wings, crafted in solid wood, which open outwards to create a more intimate, customisable environment around the sleeper.
Integrated shelves concealed within these wings provide handy support for books, personal items, or digital devices – turning the headboard into a true domestic micro-architecture, perfectly attuned to contemporary needs for flexible, layered living.
